Hymn Sing!
Christ Our Redeemer Church (COR) celebrates family discipleship in a special way during our monthly Hymn Sing. Our gathering together is to encourage one another to be wise and joyful in the Lord. And a part of that wisdom, according to Ephesians 5:18-19, is to be filled with the Spirit …addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.
As we gather together, we join our voices in various songs (some new, some old) while rejoicing in the great hymns of the historic faith and our great heritage. At COR, we also sing from God’s songbook, the Psalms, which helps us to learn God’s truth about Himself and what He has done for His people.
During our monthly Hymn Sing we also provide a time in which families might present some sacred music/ or the reading and discussing of some Scripture. At COR, we encourage the family to memorize the Scriptures, to have daily worship together—all in praise to our Lord. We hope this monthly time will encourage families gathering together to seek the Lord, strengthening one another for our service to our King.
Come and join us! Make a joyful noise to the Lord!! Afterwards, there will be some dessert and a time of fellowship of the saints.
